Vamosa, the software business of Marcat Limited, is launching Vamosa Content Migrator, an automated content migration tool.
The toolset automates the highly labour-intensive and time-consuming tasks that organisations must embark upon to move all of their existing web and content investments into a Content Management System (CMS). It automatically identifies, extracts, enhances and deploys any content (pages from Intranets, Extranets and Internet Sites) into a range of specialist storage systems that have been designed specifically to store and publish web content such as text, pictures and other formats.
For many organisations, this content can consist of tens, up to hundreds, of thousands of pages of 'unstructured' and 'unmanaged' information -- thus, making it very difficult to migrate the existing content into a CMS.
The technology, says the company, virtually eliminates the current manual, 'cut-and-paste' methods that most organisations currently adopt if they want to keep their existing content.
Leading industry analysts identify that growing political and social forces are demanding greater corporate accountability.
Currently, there are no other automated products in the marketplace, claims the company
Strategic partners currently include content management systems providers, Stellent, Interwoven and Obtree.
