Portello CMS is a further development of the popular Portello Online Site Editor tool, an Internet Explorer plug-in program. The new editing tool includes an administrator function providing organisations with opportunities to allow non-technical users to update parts of a site without risk of "damage" to other parts of the site.
"Many people find the prospect of updating their web site to be daunting," says Paul
Hansson, MD Portello AB. "Portello CMS makes it easier for organisations to encourage personnel to participate in updating different parts of the web site."
The editor includes an administrator function and a client function that updates existing html web sites irrespective of the software used to create these. The administrator function simplifies creating users and controlling their authorisations.
Users having the right to alter different parts of the site are simply selected via the point and click function. For example, they might want to alter typeface, colour or add pictures. Users need no training or additional software to make alterations to the web site - all they do is open the web browser, click the Portello icon and then edit the web site directly on the screen.
"Organisations that seldom update their web sites finish up further down the search engine ranking system because this is partly based on the regular posting of fresh information," says Paul Hansson, . "With Portello CMS, all organisation personnel can contribute to
maintaining an updated web site that makes a good impression on the visitor."
Internet is growing in importance as a channel for cost-efficient communications with customers and personnel. Many companies and organisations however, are still dependent on outside expertise for making simple changes to their web sites. This frequently results in
such important information as altered opening hours or new discount offers not being
published.
