Autonomy is working towards a new sector for its technology, third generation wireless communication (3G), starting with its new client Hutchison 3G, holder of many of the world’s largest third generation mobile phone licences, who has picked Autonomy’s infrastructure technology for the development of its new 3G network throughout Europe and Asia.
Employing Autonomy’s technology, Hutchison 3G will automate traditional labour and maintenance overheads associated with information processing to provide consumers with a single entry point from their mobile and handheld devices to itsnetwork.
Initial deployments will occur in the United Kingdom and Italy, with future rollouts scheduled for Austria, Sweden, Hong Kong and Australia.
