Clearview Investment Partners, an investment banking and advisory firm for mid-market growth companies, announced its corporate launch with the success of its first client, Olive Software, which received $6MM from Sequoia Capital. Clearview acted as advisor to Olive in conjunction with its affiliate Milestone International, which provides Clearview services to Israeli companies.
Olive Software is a player in the Enterprise Content Management segment leveraging revolutionary technologies that transform existing information and systems into XML.
"This investment provides Olive with a solid platform for growth," said Olive CEO Yoni Stern. "Key to our success was the Clearview and Milestone International team providing the relationships and entrepreneurial determination we needed."
"The technology has opened many new content management options for Olive's customers in the publishing sector, and we see similar if not broader application for Olive's XML platform across other markets including enterprise and government where migrating content to XML can enable many new ways to search, present, and personalize information for the end user," said Shmil Levy, a Partner with Sequoia Capital.
Giles Somerville, Clearview Managing Partner, said, "Clearview has committed to Israel by locating one of our professionals there to identify leading Israeli companies such as Olive who are expanding in the U.S. and raising U.S. venture capital."
Most of the Clearview team has worked together since 1999. Before Clearview they built Milestone Equity Partners, a private equity firm with a portfolio of 40+ early-stage technology companies, raising over $35M from leading investors such as Sequoia, Globespan Capital, Charles River Ventures, and Valhalla Partners.
Giles Somerville, Nelson Cooney, and Allan Kaplan recently served as Managing Partners at Milestone and are joined in Clearview by Brian Hirsch, formerly of Sterling Venture Partners; and Mark Fedeli, formerly of Milestone Equity Partners. Milestone International is founded by Elliot Prince, formerly of Wit Soundview and Gary Fuchs of Tishman Family Investments.
