Verity, provider of enterprise software that helps organizations maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced the availability of Verity Ultraseek release 5.1.
This new version of the company's powerful, downloadable enterprise search software incorporates several new capabilities designed to reduce administrative overhead while enhancing the end-user experience.
"Verity Ultraseek 5.1 builds upon the ease of deployment, effectiveness of use and relevance of results for which this software is known," said Anthony Bettencourt, Verity's president and CEO. "The new features of Ultraseek 5.1 reflect Verity's commitment to bring to customers ever-better ways to make the most of their intellectual capital investments and assets."
According to Yankee Group, "the addition of Ultraseek to Verity's product portfolio helps to strengthen the company's ability to service all categories of customers, ranging from those that desire a low-cost site search tool, to those that desire a full-scale knowledge-management engine. Verity has acknowledged that search solutions must be intuitive for all parties, including administrator, business user, and end-user. Vendors that focus development activity on ease-of-use demonstrate an understanding of customer needs."
Ease of Deployment and Administration
A highlight of Ultraseek 5.1 is Layout Manager, a versatile graphical user interface that significantly reduces the administrative effort needed to design and deploy multiple search interfaces and results pages. It is designed to give administrators the ability to easily control all aspects of look and feel as well as search options, including results display, default collections, categories, passage-based summaries and spell suggest.
Most important, Layout Manager allows delegation of this activity to business-line managers to permit better match of specific departmental requirements, says the company.
