Zope Corporation released and made available Zope Version 3.2 and Version 2.9.
The Release marks the transition to a predictable time-based release schedule and the integration of the Twisted framework into the Zope application server. According to Stephan Richter, one of the premier (or 'most active') Zope 3 developers, "Both of the standard servers, HTTP and FTP may now be used via Twisted. The integration of the Twisted framework allows us to use SSL natively, implement schedulers and more easily integrate new network protocols."
"Many new packages that were developed for commercial projects were added into the release. For one, a programmable test browser was added that allows us to simulate the user experience in a functional test," said Richter.
"We are very excited with Zope 3.2 since it is now ready for enterprise class web application development. Zope 3.2 includes Japanese language files and it is Japanese-capable out-of-the-box. This product proves that you can leverage the benefits of the global open source development model," said Takeshi Yamamoto, CEO of Zope Japan KK in Tokyo.
