Acrobat 3D users can enable commenting features in the new Adobe Reader for UNIX/Linux, allowing Adobe Reader users to view product structure and use commenting, measurement and cross-section tools directly on 3D objects in Adobe PDF files. This means Acrobat 3D users can now enable an even larger set of those in the supply chain suppliers, partners, customers, etc. to participate in document-based 3D design collaboration processes simply using Adobe Reader. (Adobe Reader users on the Windows and Mac operating systems have had the same ability to view and interact with 3D objects in PDF files since the initial availability of Acrobat 3D in January 2006.) Adobe Reader 7.0.8 is immediately available for Sun Solaris SPARC, IBM AIX, HP-UX, Novell SUSE, and Red Hat Linux.
