Userland Software has announced the beta release of Manila Mac OSX.
Manila is a rather cool browser based content management system that can be accessed below the thousand dollar entry cost.
Basic weblog function has been free to date.
The 'high end' Mac compatible CMS marketplace was addressed by Roxen earlier this year.
Dave Winer, CEO of UserLand Software comments "The combination of Mac OSX's reliable UNIX-based foundation, its intuitive user interface, and Manila's powerful contentmanagement system is perfect for the publication, company, or school thatwants to set up a scalable user-managed Website"
"Mac OSX's open source, UNIX-based foundation delivers stability and powerful Internet features, making it the ideal platform for web development and deployment," says Ron Okamoto, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. UserLand has shipped software for the Mac since 1992.
