Recently launched FatWire Spark portal Content Management (pCM) for the Sun ONE Portal Server will include support for MySQL.
Spark with MySQL support provides a fully integrated portal Content Management solution at no cost to the client. A five-user version of Spark pCM is available free of charge for Sun ONE Portal Server customers.
"FatWire chose to support the MySQL database because there is an increased demand by users who want to get their portal projects up and running without the added cost of other databases," said Bob Ronchi, vice president of strategic alliances.
"The new support for MySQL expands Spark pCM user options for evolving enterprises."
"Integration with MySQL server demonstrates their commitment to the open source community and provides customers with an alternative for database deployments," explained John Fanelli, senior director, Network Identity, Portal and Communications Products, Sun Microsystems, Inc.
"The Sun ONE Portal Server featuring Spark pCM provides our customers with a secure, enhanced portal solution, while allowing them to deploy customized portals and content quickly and efficiently."
