East Stroudsburg will relaunch its new Web site by October, 2001, as part of its advanced technology and communications initiatives, and it will use Active Data Exchange software to allow multiple users to develop, edit and publish materials to Web sites in near real time, using desktop word processing and other common software.
Active Data Exchange is active in several industry standards committees including the Information Content Exchange (ICE) Authoring Group and the W3C XML Protocol Standards Committee.
"The University is creating a dynamic new look and functionality with the help of Active Data Exchange" says Doug Smith, Director of University Relations at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.
"We want our Web site to be a more powerful resource for the University's online community and more inviting to prospective students. One way to accomplish this is to empower the staff to post information directly to the Web, while keeping a consistent look and feel throughout the site. We evaluated several options, and decided that Active Data Publisher was the right solution for our needs."
Susan C. Yee, Chief Executive Officer of Active Data Exchange says "Our software is well-suited to the decentralized atmosphere of the campus environment, and is already being used by a number of Colleges and Universities. Active Data Publisher uses a customizable system of templates to create a standard structure for the Web pages. Using this framework, individuals from different
departments can create Web pages that reflect the personalities of each department while maintaining an overall consistent look and feel."
