Content applications become specialised

LabVelocity has released what it claims to be the first Internet-based application specifically designed for manufacturers and distributors of life science products.
Companies can manage, categorize and enhance all product data and relevant scientific content by utilizing LabVelocity's proprietary Web-based tools.
The technology allows companies in the life sciences industry to offer a parametrically searchable database of product information and integrated scientific content, while increasing efficiency within their organization, say the developers.
"While manufacturers and suppliers in most major industries have adopted on-line data and content management initiatives, the life sciences industry has been delayed by the lack of effective technology that meets the specific needs of this market," explains Erik K. Lium, Ph. D, president of LabVelocity. "We offer a cost effective way to increase sales, average order sizes and margins without creating channel conflict"
LabVelocity's software and hosted business solutions were designed by scientists and industry insiders to parallel the purchasing behavior of scientists at pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
