How maverick? A company, not based in Cambridge, London or the M4/M3 Silicon Valleys. In fact, it beavers away in the ass end of nowhere (in software development terms)...
.... Plymouth. No not Portsmouth! The City of Plymouth!! Betwixt the Devil (Dartmoor) and the Deep Blue Sea; the very same place where Sir Francis Drake launched his fleet to face up to and defeat the attacking Spanish Armada. Carefully completing his game of Bowls on Plymouth Hoe first.
We can prove that there exists a bucket full of talent well positioned and prepared in spirit and in mind to take on the "best". We are winning skirmishes and slowly grabbing market share - particularly in the Public Sector. At the moment we act like a crack SBS team in the true spirit of the Cockleshell heroes.
Why should it cost so much for CMS software? And as for the term "Enterprise Content Management" Pah!
I would say go and talk to Brittany Ferries who have made massive returns on their investment and are now transacting nearly one fifth of their ferry ticket bookings online. They can prove that for a total investment of 300K (and that includes all internal costs too and the CMS licences were a fraction of that) they have saved 1million with 25million transacted online since Feb 2000.
I dislike this IT culture of "bull...t baffling brains" and take my hat off to Stelios' approach for that is where I come from. Surely, its just a case of shifting ones and noughts in the most efficient way to those that want or need them and then allowing them to efficiently do something with them?
Organisations need not pay for pampering. I don't believe in the candy floss approach that some of our competitors in the industry go for; piles of fluff on the surface but once you have taken a bite you are left feeling disappointed. I believe in providing Plymouth Rock, solid and reliable where you can see exactly what you get from the moment you take off the wrapper and take a good hearty bite.
My gauntlet is laid down before those guys who we meet from across the water on a daily basis.
We have assisted GMTV, Virgin Trains and we are putting local authorities online in time for Tony Blair's 2005 deadline so we know a bit about it.
The bigger the spend does not mean an adequately or efficiently deployed CMS business solution. So let's get real and provide the answers to the problems that customers have.
IT need not be a rip off! We and our integrating partners are proving that with projects deployed around our CONTROLSITE CMS!
