Generally keyword searches retrieve hundreds of irrelevant results New solutions help to target searches more efficiently

Resumes typically contain common attributes (e.g. name, address, email, education, experience, etc.), yet they are formatted in many different ways and saved in different file formats, from html pages to word files.
In order to make this data useful, companies traditionally have had to print hard copies and manually file the resumes, or hire people to manually enter the critical attributes of unstructured resumes into HRMS databases.
This week Mohomine, developers of advanced software solutions for unstructured data management has been signed up by PeopleSoft, leaders in enterprise solutions.
Under the deal Mohomine's attribute extraction technology gets integrated
into PeopleSoft's recruitment solution.
PeopleSoft's recruitment solution will be designed to enable customers to replace the process of manual aggregation of resume data through the use of Mohomine's automated processes for resume aggregation and data entry.
With the integration of Mohomine's attribute extraction technology, PeopleSoft's recruitment solution will understand resumes in their original digital format and have the ability to extract the critical attributes into XML format for PeopleSoft's recruitment solution.
Mohomine's technology is also expected to enhance the accuracy, speed and quality of PeopleSoft's recruitment solution.
"We believe our customers stand to benefit tremendously from our next generation of recruitment solution," said Steve Goldberg, vice president of HRMS Product Management for PeopleSoft. "With Mohomine's extraction technology, we will be able to offer unprecedented resume reading capabilities."
"Many of the big companies like PeopleSoft recognize that in order to continue to provide improved e-business solutions, they need to keep up with the latest developments in technology- yet they are unable to foster that innovation internally. Therefore, they are identifying and integrating the innovative, next-gen technologies developed by smaller, highly focused technology firms such as Mohomine, says Dina Moskowitz, spokesperson for Mohomine.
An additional benefit of Mohomine's technology for PeopleSoft customers is that they will now be able to more efficiently and productively search for a targeted set of resumes. Historically, organizations could only search for resumes by performing keyword searches over entire documents, resulting in hundreds of irrelevant resumes. With Mohomine's technology, the solution will enable users to search by single or multiple attributes (e.g. degree, employment, location, etc.). This means that now, if you'd like to find someone who worked at Microsoft, you can specify that criteria within the "employment" attribute and avoid pulling up results of people whose resumes only list Microsoft in the "skills" attribute. Similarly, you can now perform a search for a job candidate who graduated from UCLA with an engineering degree who lives in Chicago, without pulling up partially-qualified or unrelated results.
Mohomine's Chief Executive Officer Neil Senturia thinks that, "PeopleSoft's recruitment solution is a perfect example of an e-business software application that will see greatly improved functionality and performance with the incorporation of our attribute extraction technology. We are especially excited that, through working with PeopleSoft, we will make a widespread impact on the efficiencies of such an important enterprise workflow process."
