Emojo, London based developers of ColdFusion based Portal CMS Affino, have launched the latest version of their software, Affino LX.

environment, never missing a chance to develop new functionalities to support and expand the concept of content management With this new release, Emojo's Managing Director Markus Karlsson
announces the breaking of new ground.

Affino LX is unique in that it provides highly productive content and user management systems common to all commercial portal solutions, out of the box.
It extends common functionality by integrating promotions, communications and targeting capabilities directly into the portal engine through an array of powerful modules.
By combining content deployment with promotional capabilities, and then allowing the users to communicate actively, Affino brings a much richer community environment to the user, and more powerful targetting tools to editors and marketeers.
The most interesting advances are visible within the new version of our key modules Newsletters, Enhanced Forums, Affiliate Commerce and Competitions.
Newsletters, for example, allows real-time targeting and analysis in a way that simply has not been possible before now in a portal management solution. The editor can select any skin (design) combine it with any channel (content) and promotion (campaign)to generate a newsletter message in seconds. This message takes the exact look-and-feel from the design to generate an html message and a text only message; all message content is analysed and categorised; the
message is then tracked, logging all identified activities including reads, click-throughs,
registrations and competition entries.
Each activity, such as competition entry can then be identified in real-time and associated with a particular group of users which can be targeted with follow-on mailings, content and dedicated site areas.
The audited usage of this integration has produced measurable increase in effectiveness. Another innovation is brought about by Enhanced Forums, that combine traditional forum capabilities with a list serve and task management framework. Users can email into the forums and have the content automatically threaded, catalogued and distributed to subscriber groups. We can use the task management to set up instant distributed tasks, with a manager, client and agent. Users can effectively set up and manage simple task and project management processes in minutes. We have also extended forums to integrate more effectively with the site for example by allowing web form reports to be sent directly to a forum, from where it can be distributed to a team, assigned a manager and be assigned to an individual as a task.

You can also waste a lot of money if no-one actually gets to see that content because of poor targeting or promotional bottlenecks repeatedly getting in the way. Affino not only destroys the competition on price/performance, it also leads the field in the area of smart content placement and promotion."

Emojo worked with UKTV to refine a number of the key new modules and analysis aspects of Affino LX. UKStyle.tv is a lifestyle portal that ties in with UKTV's television channels, and was launched on a early version of Affino LX in January 2003. In the three months following the
re-launch, the number of unique users went from 17,000 to 113,000 per month. UKTV has also seen an increase in advertising and sponsorship revenue for 2003 - 2004 increase by 500% since launching the portal on Affino LX.
As communications and targeting tools are built into the core portal management system, Affino LX is in a unique position to deliver such results to Portals, says the Emojo team.
