Since the invasion of Iraq started a couple of day ago, I have been sitting in my chair just thinking.
Trying to figure out what ‘s the real picture here. Rather taken aback, in disbelief.
Only a couple of weeks ago, UN inspectors and Saddam’s government were effectively cooperating on disarmament, and should things have proceeded in that direction, there would not have been a case for war.
So when the possibility of an understanding was on the table, president Bush decided to anticipate the eventuality of a peaceful resolution, and to avoid it by a fast unilateral, preemptive attack calling it ‘liberation’.
I have never seen anyone working so hard to avoid peace.
The world is in chock, impotent and disgusted.
But George Bush’s true colors are in full sight.
Backing the troops
Our thoughts are with the troops, say the Brits on television.
Yes, troops who signed up their lives to defend the country.
The troops who don’t realise that they are been used to defend not freedom, not democracy, but personal wealth interests of a group of influential individuals, led by GW Bush, followed by Blair, and backed by some key individuals in various countries who use their governments to represent their own interests, rather than the interest of the people.
I can’t help it but when I see the neat and tidy blue suits of our political leaders on television, their cute white arses wrapped in shirts and cravattes, sitting high on their chairs and giving war speeches, I can’t help but feel sick.
War talk is far too easy for cowardly politicians who never even dug up a turnip in their garden, let alone a trench in the desert.
If they are so keen to start a useless pointless armed conflict, why don’t they go in the field to see what it is like?
That would be backing the troops. Anything else is just smear.
Solidarity with Iraq
Our thoughts are also with the Iraqi people, who hopefully have had sufficient advance warning to prepare for a siege.
Let’s not forget that Iraq has been suffering from sanctions and poverty, as well as from a terrifying regime fears for a long time
People like that are tough. For them, war is probably just another very bad day. Let’s hope they manage to see it through with courage.
Saddam indeed is a son a bitch, and a little crazy.
But he is also really the only one who has a chance to confront, and y challenge the shameless policy of aggression in the Middle East by the US.
Some observers, including many westerners, are hoping that Saddam gives the invaders what they deserve. Hopefully stacking up weapons wasn’t just a past time for him, and his arsenals can now be put to legitimate use.
Business is business, and war is war. Right?
(I would also burn down my country’s oil wells, rather than delivering them to enemy hands, but then again, I am also a son of a bitch and and a little crazy too...)
See how the dangerous spiral of violence easily pulls in even the most well intentioned and innocent soul?
Following this line of thought, would see anyone go burn in hell in relatively short time.
The international community
The international community is up in arms.
The UN, the EU, and various other countries and political leaders are begging Bush to stop now, before the worst comes true. That would be the best resolution. Stop the attack and start the inspections again.
‘Why do they hate us so much?’ cried some Americans in the wake of September 11.
Because America is controlled by a few nasty individuals who rigged the elections to go to power and created a very dangerous government, which operates an aggressive, arrogant and invasive foreign politics that hinders peace processes world wide.
Because America’s attitude to the rest of the world is "screw’ em"
That’s why .

That kind of stuff gives me the shivers...
Anti war movements are planning to boycott the US economy by stopping buying American goods and services, some are suggesting the international community issues sanctions.
Some would very much like to start bombing America from behind right now. But hold it.
Lessons in life
I have learnt a couple of things in life.
One is that with our actions we determine our destiny. Inevitably, this means that we all pay for our mistakes. Provided there is justice...
Second, is that not all evil is bad.
While Iraq is being attacked, there is a world consensus emerging, among opponents to the war.
The international community has never been able to observe so clearly the selfish, totalitarian and reckless behaviour of the President of the United States.
The world has found one of its great enemies, and it is seeing it in action right now.
That’s half the battle.
Now it needs to find a sensible way of dealing with it. That’s going to take time.
How to keep a country like the US under control? Only the UN can do that.
Until now, since after the war, the UN has been an instrument in the hands of selected individuals within the USA to cover their political and economical maneuvers. Bureaucratic, ineffective, hopeless, run by wealthy diplomats who have never even heard the word ‘hunger’ before.
Now it is necessary for the UN to get rid of the sinister influence of the individuals who use politics to serve their private aims, and to start working for the long term progress of humanity.
In the long term - as it should have been from the beginning really - it will have to be the UN responsibility to organise international resources and if necessary, use force to ensure stability.
The UN job is also to secure impartial application of regulations. What about torture and weapons of mass destruction being developed elsewhere in the Middle East, and nobody taking the slightest interest?
for example
But this evil thing has got power of information, over the media. It manages to
suffocate facts
and propagates itself through lies.
