OOiPtech releases JS2share by Alis Marsden

OOiPtech, a Dutch company that focuses on content and application syndication technologies, has released JS2share, a simple low-cost tool to enable syndication via JavaScript Include.
"OOiPtech is a specialist in multiple-layer content and application syndication. We have created JS2share in response to market demand for a more basic tool to do only single-layer syndication" says Kees van Mourik, COO of OOiPtech.
JS2share is priced at $199. Additionally there is a fully functional free version, the only limitation being that all syndicated content carries a 'Powered by JS2share' tagline. This free version, which can be downloaded from the website, also serves to allow potential customers to try the product before they buy.
JS2share is available for Windows NT and Windows 2000 only. It is an application,
so it needs to be installed, which requires administrative access to the machine in question. Administrative access is a privilege normally reserved for those managing their own web servers or using dedicated hosting services. Therefore this product is not likely to be an option for those using shared hosting services.
Whilst the cost of this product is very affordable, administrative access to a Windows NT or Windows 2000 machine is often quite expensive.
What impact do OOiPtech think this will have on the success of JS2share?
"JS2share is aimed at professional customers that want to save the time and effort that is so often associated with syndication. The automatic update is not something you can build just like that, but non-professional users live with this handicap and will keep on doing it themselves. Yes, the market is limited to those who have administrative access to their machine, but JS2share could also be used locally. The only extra effort would be to FTP the JavaScript files to your web server" says Kees van Mourik.
Once installed on a suitable machine JS2share is very easy to configure. No technical expertise is required.
JS2share allows its users to create syndication tasks. These tasks can concern files that are located on the local machine or on the web. This is useful because it means users are not restricted to syndicating content that is located on their own web server. JS2share can provide a method of syndicating content that is on other websites once the URL is specified. Indeed if a user wanted to aggregate content from another website, that didn't offer a syndication facility, JS2share can be to used to set up a means of doing that.
Once a syndication task has been created, the user specifies the interval at which they wish JS2share to check the file they have specified, and update the JavaScript file, that enables the content to be syndicated. The interval a user chooses will be based on how often their content changes, it could be hourly, daily, weekly or any other amount of time.
"This interval function in an important feature. It means publishers can update their content in the way they normally would and, unlike other available JavaScript Converters, the syndication process is fully automated" says Kees van Mourik.
Adding JS2share syndicated content to any website is very painless. All it requires is one line of code to be added the page where the content is desired. From then on the process is completely automated, that line of code is simply calling a JavaScript file on the content provider's web server that is kept up to date by JS2share.
"One of the main advantages of syndicating content with JavaScript Include is that it is very easy for others to add your content to their websites. XML syndication is not usually as straightforward for the users of syndicated content" says Kees van Mourik.
