A new product combines online publishing, content aggregation, and categorization of content under a centralized administration system.
Active Data Aggregator allows organizations to decentralize the information gathering process while maintaining control over the editing and distribution processes, and retaining control of their high-value information assets, says the company.
Content is stored, categorized and maintained in a central repository for publication on the Web or distribution via syndication.
Turner Construction, a $4 billion commercial construction firm, uses Active Data Aggregator to maintain its extranet site for management of on-going building projects.
Active Data Aggregator's content categorization gives Turner's management team the ability to control the flow of content into different secured areas of the site. Text, spreadsheet and drawings are generated with familiar software applications, and then published to the Web site via an Internet connection.
Susan C. Yee, Chief Executive Officer of Active Data Exchange explains "Active Data Aggregator can be used to aggregate and categorize content for syndication, or to populate an existing Internet site with content from multiple sources. It can also be used to build an online community with options such as registration of third-party contributors and an events calendar."
Active Data Exchange is active in several industry standards committees including the Information and Content Exchange (ICE) Authoring Group and the W3C XML Protocol Standards Committee.
