Xyleme, developer of content management solutions, announced the release of Xyleme Zone Server (XZS) 3.3.
This improved version of the solution enables enterprises to store, reuse and repurpose data in order to gain the maximum value from their data content, says the company.
New features increase the reliability of XZS, making it fully ready for mission-critical use. The system also moves closer to standardisation by integrating XQuery, XML Schema namespaces and Unicode support.
Finally, offers parallel processing in queries, resulting in performance that tops relational database management systems (RDBMS) and other XML databases.
Extending its Content Mart concept, Xyleme has enhanced XZS to store non-XML files, including XML versions of non-XML documents and their original sources, or references to their original sources. As a result, users now have a centralised reference system for their content, instead of distributed information. Plus, they can precisely query XML documents and their original non-XML sources.
The technology now features automation that simplifies use for developers. When repositories are full, XZS 3.3 automatically creates logical clusters and automatically extends queries. This frees developers from physical storage constraints and the need to update queries as content volumes grow. This enhancement streamlines administration for developers, thereby shortening time-to-market.
XZS' application programming interface (API) now supports Web services for both Java and .NET environments, resulting in faster application development, shorter time-to-market and a broader spectrum of application technologies.
The technology also offers a unified framework to graphical user interfaces, such as User Management, XyNotif for alerts management and an administration GUI. These expanded options ease overall setup and tuning of the system and give users centralised, unified control of system resources.
