This newsletter started off with the intention of being a weekly, but so far I have only sent out a handful of issues, turns out it’s more like a quarterly. Go with the flow, is our philosophy. Room for increasing the frequency as we mature I guess. The terrible things that are happening are changing the world, but I like to be optimistic. I think that unless we manage to organise the world better, we won’t have a world to manage at all. Let’s take a long term view and hope that change is for the best. There has been no equilibrium in economic and social development in the last century, and things cannot go on being unbalanced forever. It’s very sad that lives are lost to violence in the process of transformation, but lives are lost to violence in their thousands everyday all over the world, and not many care or take notice. It’s only when something happens to us that we sit down head in hands and wonder, why? That’s when for a moment we stop the damn rat race and think, hey, what are we running for? We are running like mad dogs so that some smart arse can keep on making a profit. For everything else there is little hurry. Online information and communication is now paramount to work, life and all. Working from home suddenly sounds like a good idea. That will decrease fuel consumption and pollution. Maybe some currencies will destabilise for a while, but for the planet it’s going to be good. We shall tackle new economy issues later on this year. Content is acquiring a new meaning. The online content industry is booming, but it’s doing so subtly, Without hype. That’s so much healthier. Understanding the technology is becoming more and more part of our everyday lives, that’s why we started a technology oriented content site. Understanding technology sounds a little boring, that’s true. But we can try to make it fun. It is only the beginning for the content sector, which is inevitably linked to the growth of the internet. No doubt about that. Difficult to chose which headlines to send out on this one, we’ll pick out a few significant ones but there are hundreds of stories published on the site since the last newsletter.
