It has been several weeks since our last headlines digest, for several reasons. First, content-wire has been very busy. In addition to plentiful daily news on the site, our recently launched opt-in headlines digests Syndication News and Content Management News have been successful enough to keep us in touch with the readers who are closest to our core information markets above. Secondly, we wanted to make sure that everyone who had requested to be removed from our list after our first big mail shot a couple of months ago actually got zapped from the dbase before the next mailing. It has been very tedious job, but we have double checked every request individually, and verified entries manually. Done. If you are receiving this e-mail and you have asked us to be removed before, you are indeed very unlucky. Write to me immediately. Last, but not least, we use these headlines digest to stay in touch with the readers, and remind them to look us up. That has not been necessary. Our traffic analysis statistics indicate regular and increasing traffic to the site everyday, no need to send out a headlines digest to remind readers to read the stuff, that's the idea. Exciting Things happen in the physical world too Just in case you have been wondering what else we have been up to, here is a quick diary of the delirious past few weeks. Sometime in May I attended a conference, one of those things that editors get invited to. There was a good atmosphere, but some strange charge was in the air, I could not quite grasp what that was. In addition to having a great time observing a curious mix of business species, the majority of which high powered, totally internet estranged, pinstriped suit type, there was Bill Gates there sitting two chairs down mine at breakfast. At the time we did not even quite pay attention to that fact, but I still wonder if I should have done something, other than just feeling privileged and thinking to myself ' We must be moving up'. Or maybe we were just hallucinating? We attended Upstart Europe in Paris, organised by Tornado Insider. There was an interesting crowd, some interesting content technologies and content talk, we had some good conversations and caught up with a few friends, including Steve Carlson with whom we had dinner and a couple of amazing midnight rollercoaster in Disneyland. Fun Fun Fun. Then, among other people who caught up with us via email Esther Dyson said she was impressed with content-wire especially for standing up solo and writing an article about the Italian elections and the dangers of mixing politics and media. Content-wire does not do politics but internet and democracy have got to grow together, so we had to say something. Last week we met more extraordinary people. Simon Williams is a data pioneer who is trying to replace the Relational Database Model, that has been a pillar of computing for the last thirty years, for the newer, more holistic Associative Data Model that he is pioneering. Fascinating. I have not done the write up for that one yet. It takes brainspace, gotta plan for it weeks in advance. Then, thanks to Eprise, one of the content management companies on our radar, we were honored to meet with Patricia Seybold, who also showed enthusiasm and support for our online content information mission. She gave us a copy of her latest book 'The Customer Revolution' and signed the inside the cover with the dedication 'to Paola, congratulations for leading the change in the content management area'. Wow, we must be doing something right! Ashes to ashes A couple of days ago we published a story about this computer virus, see link below "Art is dead" We made a gaffe, and mixed Mondrian with Duchamp. A reader wrote in with the right quotation, and attempting to make a correction we mixed Mondrian with Malevich again. Oh boy. Thanks to our knowledgeable readers for the compassion shown towards our errors. We appreciate you taking to trouble to write in if you spot something dubious on the site. Just fixed the content delivery channel by the way.Thanks. We have not forgotten our readers and subscribers. Content-wire will be working remotely for a few weeks, as a few international engagements are takings us to Rome and Geneva for a couple of weeks in June, but we shall be back with more news and content innovation over the summer. If you really want to hear from us more often, subscribe to our opt in lists. Below a selection of our headlines from each channel for the last few weeks Til the next posting!
