Blue Order, a global provider of Media Asset Management (MAM) solutions for media and entertainment companies, corporations and public institutions, and Dremedia the interactive TV subsidiary of Autonomy Corporation plc say they have demonstrated a new level of automation for media asset management, resulting from the recent collaboration between these leading technology providers for broadcast, media and entertainment production.
"The task of creating deeply catalogued audio and video materials to enable flexible content re-use and enhanced play-out in competitive time-to-air situations has been a daunting one requiring experienced editorial resources and many months of planning,” said Rainer Kellerhals, General Manager of Blue Order.
"Our combined solution pushes Media Asset Management to the next level from a technology, workflow and economic perspective."
The integration of these technologies results in a highly effective, unique approach to content management workflows for broadcast, studio and corporate asset management. Dremedia's media analysis engine can be deployed either at the ingest or import stages of Blue Order's Media Asset Management workflow architecture to rapidly and automatically regenerate content - either for archived video-audio material or in real-time news-to-air production environments. Taking content analysis and speech recognition to a new level, it offers automatically generated, deeply descriptive 'metadata' transcripts that are synchronised at a frame-accurate level.
In addition, archive content can be retrieved using natural language or concept-based search, making video content easily available, without relying on complex taxonomies or detailed knowledge of the archive. For the first time, users across the distributed network immediately have access to an automated solution that eases the production tasks of categorising, identifying and manipulating video and audio.
Matthew Karas, Founder and CEO of Dremedia commented: "We are very excited about the integration of our technology into Blue Order's media archive product. We have been impressed with the level of maturity of their technology and the ease with which they have been able to integrate our products. Blue Order customers will now have access to technology that completely automates the handling of audio and video, allowing them to become more productive with reduced costs."
Combined with Blue Order's multi-level metadata stratification, sophisticated cut detection algorithms and content storage and peripherals management, users gain powerful unrestrained access to content without huge financial upfront investment. Furthermore users do not need to replace existing systems because the analysis structure adapts to any analogue, mainframe or server-based content overlaying new levels of access possibilities to match new business opportunities and production requirements.
