Vasont Systems, a provider of content management software and data services, is pleased to announce that a standard Darwin
Information Typing Architecture (DITA) setup is included with every installation of the Vasont Content Management System. While many other systems require users to purchase a separate module or specific edition of the software, Vasont’s standard DITA setup is included at no extra cost. Users can choose to install
the optional DITA setup when installing Vasont.
Originally created by IBM, DITA is an open standard, XML-based architecture for authoring, editing, and publishing technical information that has become very popular in the content management industry. Vasont is especially effective with DITA because it deals with content on a modular level, providing greater control
of reuse and change to content fragments.
In addition, Vasont is able to support any industry-standard XML DTDs such as DocBook and S1000D. For users with complex content, Vasont also supports proprietary DTDs created to accommodate an organization’s specific business logic. Multiple DTDs can also be used in Vasont when one DTD doesn’t fit all of
an organization’s content.
“By including the DITA standard setup as an option with every installation, we’re making the search for a content management system that much easier for our customers,” said Jack Danaher, Director of Development for Vasont Systems. “Some clients find that standard DTDs are easier to use and less expensive to
maintain, while others prefer to create their own DTD. Vasont provides the flexibility to allow organizations to use DITA or any standard or custom DTD they choose – with our expert staff to help them along the way.”
