The United States Government Accountability Office has released a 320 page report (PDF) admitting that "DHS has made limited progress in the areas of emergency preparedness and response."
Hoping to expand capital markets where there is no hope, Operation HOPE, a financial literacy and empowerment nonprofit, says it will provide free Emergency Financial First-Aid Kits (EFFAKs) and Preparation & Recovery Seminars to help Americans prepare for the challenges they might face after a disaster or personal emergency.
